Building management systems – BMS

Building management systems are advanced building automation systems implemented in large projects with extensive mechanical, air conditioning and electrical systems. BMS consists of hardware (sensors, actuators, DDC controllers, communication and computer equipment) and software (SCADA and application programs) that compose a complete management system with the purpose of reducing the need for human labour in the maintenance of complex business facilities and reducing energy consumption, making business more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Subsystems that can be integrated into a singular BMS:

  • Lighting and safety lighting control systems
  • Electric power systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems
  • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system
  • Elevator and escalator control systems
  • Fire alarm and fire protection systems
  • Safety and security systems
  • Other technical systems (e.g. meteorological equipment, movable blinds, loudspeakers, etc.)
